Western Springs is a
suburb of Chicago located in Cook County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, the
village's population totals about 13,000 residents. In November of 2007,
Western Springs was ranked second on BusinessWeek.com's
list of the 50 Best Places to Raise Children. Western Springs is also hometown
to American novelist Jonathan Franzen,
a National Book Award and James Tait Black Memorial Prize winner.
